There is an interesting account of Christopher Knapp at <http://www.plymouthbrethren.org/user/96> but I'd like to know how he may have been related to William F Knapp who edited and published Noels' 'History of the Brethren'... can anyone help me? Timothy Stunt

Interesting question, William F. Knapp was born in 'New York' according to the census records, though I don't know if that means the city or the state, I suspect the former. His wife Emma Sauer, was born in Albany, New York, the same place as Christopher Knapp.
Now Christopher Knapp had a brother, William Knapp, though best suggestion is he was born in March 1875. I can't find much about him, in fact the only census records I can match are for 1880, and 1900 .. whereas for W.F. Knapp I only have census records from 1910 onwards! So they may or may not be the same person :s my inkling is they aren't but I'm not sure at the moment.

Christopher Knapp had 4 brothers and 1 sister. One of the brothers was William Franklin Knapp (1874-1950). He edited and published Noels' 'History of the Brethren'. The others were Louis 1868-1942; George 1872-1907; & Albert Julius 1877-1937. His sister was Margaret 1866-1940.
Christopher's parents were Louis (Lewis) Knapp, 1841-1913 & Catherine Ost, 1843-1927.
