Naploleon Noel worked as a clerk at the Admiralty in London. He loved writing. Not only did he write weekly letters to his children who had moved to New Zealand, India and Canada, but also was a prolific writer of Christian tracts, sermons as well as personal diaries. He was also a lay preacher at various evangelical churches.
He was also a much loved and respected father and husband, and continues to be held in great esteem by his great grandchildren, of which I am one of them.

Meg, it is very interesting to hear your family 'insider' perspective on Napoleon Noel. The fact that his esteem has been passed down to his great-granchildren gives insight into his Christian character. Many thanks for that.
