Intro, Biographical Information, Notes etc:

Full name: Jacques Isaac Benjamin Rossier. One of the first "Brethren" in Switzerland; joined them in 1840 (according to Neatby, pp. 76, 305). Editor of Le Témoignage des Disciples de la Parole (1844–47) and Études Scripturaires (1850–60). Father of Henri Rossier. Unlike his son, he sided with Kelly in the 1881 division. (See Edwin Cross, William Kelly, pp. 29, 41, 96.)

Michael Schneider said ...

One day before he died, his 53-year-old daughter Louise Eugénie had married the 62-year-old painter Léon Berthoud (1822–1892). The death notice in the newspaper Feuille d'Avis de Neuchâtel was placed by Eugénie and her husband; her three siblings (including Henri) are not even mentioned, which is quite unusual:

Eugénie's own death notice – she died only 16 days after her father! – follows the custom of the day: Here all siblings are listed as well as several other relatives.
