Although this is a defence of the textual principles of Tregelles, it is almost certainly the work of Benjamin Wills Newton, who oversaw the publication of the last parts of Tregelles's Greek New Testament — a task for which he was uniquely qualified as Tregelles had conversed and corresponded with him at great length throughout the thirty years of his project.
