I've never discovered anything about the Rev Sherburne Povah Tregelles Prideaux (1880-1956) and I have no idea why his third given name was Tregelles, but he must not be confused with Samuel Prideaux Tregelles (1813-75) who was never ordained and could never be described as "Rector of Dogmersfield" or "Incumbent of Chelsea Old Church" or "Dean of Whitelands College". The three initials "SPT" have confused many readers! Timothy Stunt
