Lord, Accept Our Feeble Song

by Thomas Kelly (1769-1854)

Tune: Hendon 7s

1 LORD, accept our feeble song!
Power and praise to Thee belong;
We would all Thy grace record,
Holy, holy, holy Lord!

2 Rich in glory, Thou didst stoop,
Thence is all Thy people's hope;
Thou wast poor, that we might be
Rich in glory, Lord, with Thee.

3 When we think of love like this,
Joy and shame our hearts possess;
Joy, that Thou couldst pity thus;
Shame, for such returns from us.

4 Yet we hope the day to see
When from every hindrance free,
When to Thee in glory brought,
We shall serve Thee as we ought.

I have just been listening to some of the hymns you have very recently added.

This one is lovely, and certainly no "feeble song".

I still have all the ones you added yesterday to listen to, and look forward to that - and any others you may add in due course.

Thanks again,

Unfortunately I had to remove this "lovely" recording as I didn't realise when adding it, that it was from a professionally recorded CD. I guess I can now recommend the CD itself though, even if it seems a little pricey. I don't know if someone in Europe is selling it too.

I think there was at least one more recording with a very good quality sound - the one which reflects the title of the CD - Lord Jesus Come (No 324), but I see that has also now been removed.

For anyone who may be interested, there are lots of 1856 (Revised, 1881) Little Flock hymns on YouTube.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for adding this Hymn, which means that all the Hymns are now included, and I see that several others have also recently been added - some of which previously only had selected verses.

Every blessing,

If this is a feeble song, I am very much looking forward to the real thing! Smashing sound. Please can we have more from this group. A group like thios could be used to help meetings break out of the appointed tunes trap. Even a good tune like Finlandia is not the same as the excellent home produced tune for Soon shall the Master come.
