GJS laboured and preached alongside a Mr Denne whilst in the Melbourne area. Does anyone have data on this mysterious brother? I seem that they were together establishing a meeting at a place north of Melbourne called Eden?

Clemens, they are just the private notes of the brother mentioned at the top of the page.

Lance, I'll ask.

I am researching this family for a friend. I have a copy of the transcript of the death of George James Stewart. According to this record, his first wife was Tryphena Ash. My research has found that one of his sisters married James Ash, a brother to Tryphena. The marriage took place in 1862 and Tryphena died in 1866. There is no mention of another marriage before he married Leila Josephson.
The problem I have with the 1873 shipping record for GJS is that he is described as a "warehouseman" when in fact he was a Naval Architect. Could there have been another GJS?
