The Love of God

by G.J. Stewart

1 John 4:9, 16, 17

PAST.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us.

PRESENT.

We have known and believed the love that God hath to us.

FUTURE.

Herein is love with us made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment.

A perfect cycle of the love of God. Perfect love casteth out fear. Faith sees the end of the journey, and knows all is well there, and the argument of faith goes on to say, “all must be well between.”

The same Christ stretches Himself all along the journey, undertaking all the charges to the end.

Surely we are loved with an everlasting love.

It is good for us to feel helpless; for we are really so, whatever we feel about it, but we give Him the credit of all when we know we can do nothing.
