Thanks for sharing this. I didn't know Weremchuk had finished his updated edition. I ordered it.

You can keep that updated edition on Darby,
I heard Weremchuk's own words in an interview,
how he said Darby got the rapture from this lass
in Scotland, along, with other critical things to say.

That is so old 'news' anyway. Apparently, if that were true we are supposed to refuse it on the basis that it was 1) the utterance of a woman, and 2) it was from a 'charismatic' spiritual manifestation. Ironically, it were to happen today it would commend itself to many on those two pints alone.

I have no brief for Weremchuk, but to cite an opinion, heard in an unreferenced and undated interview, is grossly unfair as in the new edition of his book (which Mr Ransbottom scornfully dismisses without looking at it) Weremchuk rejects the claim that 'Darby got the rapture from this lass in Scotland' (Weremchuk, new edition, p. 102 n.51) Timothy Stunt

If he rejects that claim now, then he changed his mind from what I heard him say in an
interview some years ago.

In this new edition, does Mr. Weremchuk tell us his perspective on JND from out of his current ecclesiastical affiliation and theological understanding? I would find that intriguing reading.

I need to contradict David Ransbottom's claim that I ever said "Darby got the rapture from this lass in Scotland." I never did and never would because I don't believe it in the least and never have.
In which interview did he "hear" me say this? I don't give interviews and certainly not audio/visual ones. Others may have quoted me in connection with some references to POSSIBLE sources for Darby's ideas, but that is something else entirely. Whatever things may have influenced Darby in coming to his final views I see nothing sinister or evil in it - even if I do not share his prophetic views. It would be most helpful - and fair - if Mr. Ransbottom would wait until he reads my chapter in the upcoming publication “Discovering Dispensationalism” by Southern California Seminary Press before making accusations such as these.
(As to the "Led Astray" video: I was not in contact with anyone involved with its production and only became aware of it long after it had been published. No one had contacted or interviewed me for it.)

Max,

I watched that Youtube video again, And I must ask your forgiveness,
I mixed you up with Dave McPherson, he was the one who said Darby
got his views on the Rapture from the lass in Scotland. So yes, I will
see about buying your new biography on Darby. Please feel free on
emailing me, if you so desire,

David

Hi David,
I suspected as much. :-)
(I.e. that you might have confused me with McPherson.)
No hard feelings on my side.
Best,
Max
